In these Premises MCB Were in charge of the demolition of MCB were the sub-contractor for this project and the contacting authority were Connolly & Fee Ltd
MCB Civils work consisted of the following elements:
- Soft stripping of the existing structure to remove all fixtures, furniture and fittings
- Removal of all asbestos containing materials
- Demolition of the existing library
- Site clearance and disposal works
MCB Civils provided all plant & labour required in order to deliver the project. A 25Ton excavator and 8Ton excavator were used in order to take the building down. Waste removal skips were placed at the rear of the site in order to easily remove the waste resulting from the demolition. Firstly, the building was soft stripped to remove all furniture, fixtures and fittings then the asbestos removal works took place.
All asbestos identified in the client’s survey was removed before the initial demolition works could take place. Once the building was declared safe the demolition works then could begin. All materials resulting from the demolition was crushed on site and taken to licensed waste facilities off site in line with all rules and regulations.
