Demolition Works to 41-46 Great Georges Street. The Main Contractor for this project were Town Link Construction and the Contacting Authority were Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.

MCB Civils role in the delivery of the project was to supply all plant & labour required in order to deliver the project for the client. Appropriate supervision and management were appointed by MCB Civils in order to deliver the works for the client. MCB Civils were required to set up the site on this project which involved fencing and hoarding works and to supervise access into the site for the duration of the contracted works. Then the site was cleared in order to get the site ready for the main works to take place.

MCB Civils firstly conducted a soft strip in order to remove all fixtures, fittings and furniture from the buildings. Once this was done the asbestos works then took place. All asbestos containing materials that were identified in the client’s survey were removed and disposed of, off site to licensed waste facilities in line with all rules and regulations. Once the building was cleared of all asbestos materials and declared safe the main demolition works of the existing structures and basement would take place. The contracted works also included the installation of a de-watering system. The de-watering system also involved the supply & install of precast concrete culverts as per specialist design.

Excavation works were required to a reduced level and the disposal of all excavated material was required and disposed of, off site to licensed waste facilities in line with all laws and regulations.

Temporary works such as façade retention, trench support and underpinning were required for this project and were all designed in house by MCB Civils.
