Demolition Works to St. Marys Mansion. The Main Contractor for this project were Ganson Building & Civil Engineering and the Contacting Authority were Cluid Housing Association

Demolition, strip out, structural alterations, Site clearance and asbestos removal were carred out throughout this project. At the beginning of the project MCB Civils completed removal of asbestos both non licensed and licensed, soft strip of building and then demolition of the buildings All concrete, Brick and Blockwork were crushed on site and used as recyled fill for foundations.

The works also included the demolition of the 4th floor and restructing of the lower 3 floors and basement level. We had to mechanical strip the roof and separate all materials to the ground. All structures were carefully disposed off to appropriate landfill sites.

MCB fenced around the entire site to keep the public safe and out of danger, we also had to complete a number of temporary works such as propping,façade retention,traffic management and signage. Other elements which MCB completed was minor building works such as Roofing works, Internal modification and alterations to buildings and landscaping works such as installing walkways and street lighting.

MCB were also tasked with the additional works off completing the retaining system. The retaining system included gabion baskets filled with 6f2 clean stone, gabion matress on some of the sloping/rising areas as there size and flexability suited this and the shuttering/formation of 200mm thick retaining walls.
